Hello!

This email is an invitation to join the Nan Hua Alumni Youth Wing.

Some information about it:

What it is:
A subsidiary wing under the main Nan Hua Alumni Association, free of charge for youths, that focuses on contributing to the school and community through fun, creative and engaging ways. It could be considered as an external CCA(to be confirmed), is a chance for you to earn CIP hours and do projects(Not PW kind of projects) that you are interested in. Joining the Alumni Youth Wing is not just about giving, it's also about helping each other out.

Who:
16 - 20 year olds i.e Secondary 4 graduating/graduated students, JC students, Poly students, National Servicemen, Undergraduates (females)

How to contribute:
Mainly, we will be doing interesting projects that will benefit either the school population or the community. For instance: Nan Hua Sec 1 Orientation Campfire o9 (school) and Environmental Awareness Concert (community). The projects can be initiated by any member(s) according to their interests. Members can choose not to initiate any projects and just participate in the ones that they are interested in.

There will also other aspects to contribute. For example: JC/Poly talks by members from different schools to help the Secondary 4 students choose their future institutions.

When:
Meetings on Saturdays once every 3 or 4 weeks. 2-3 hours each meeting, none when nearing exam periods.

What is in it for YOU(just need to look at the appropriate group):
For graduating/graduated Secondary 4 students:
1. Headstart in an external CCA
2. CIP hours
3. Chance for classes to get together even after graduation
4. Fun through doing projects that you like
5. Guidance from Seniors to choose appropriate JC/Poly courses
6. Helping the needy and giving back to Nan Hua - sense of satisfaction

For JC students:
1. External CCA
2. CIP hours
3. Guidance from JC graduates to build up the right portfolio
4. JC graduates will help you with your studies (if you have any queries) for free
5. Mrs Siew, Vice Principal of Nan Hua, will write a testimonial for you if you require it when seeking for jobs/Universities/Scholarships.
6. Helping the needy and giving back to Nan Hua - sense of satisfaction
7. Catch up with schoolmates and make new friends

For JC graduates/Poly students:
1. Find out more about the different job prospectives from our Alumni members who are currently working.
2. Chance to expand CV
3. Guidance from Alumni members to choose appropriate University courses
4. Mrs Siew, Vice Principal of Nan Hua, will write a testimonial for you if you require it when seeking for jobs/Universities/Scholarships.
5. Helping the needy and giving back to Nan Hua - sense of satisfaction
6. Catch up with schoolmates and make new friends

7. Impress University course interviewers/Future employers as you are contributing to your Alma Mater - displaying loyalty


Interested? More information will be given in a tea session on 22 December Monday, 12 - 1pm at Nan Hua, Level 1 air-conditioned classroom. Note: Coming for the tea session does not mean you have agreed to join. There will be an official registration after the tea session. No slippers allowed.
